Freezing a wire's value

Freezing a wire's value This is useful when you want to store a value at a given point in time. For example, generating a random number when an object is emitted, and keeping that value for the rest of the scene.
- Using a signal manipulator to "freeze" the output value.
- Switching between two signal manipulators and nodes to always freeze the "live" value.
- Using a signal generator to generate random values.
- Sending an "on" pulse after a 1 frame delay using signal manipulators and a switch.
- Sculpt hue shift setting.

You can find a chip that uses this technique by looking for "Wire Freezer" ( Or for a simple test setup to play about with it, look for "Wire Freezer Demo" (
